Recreational Marine
Insurance Seminar

Recreational marine is one of the most accessible entry points into the marine insurance market — and one of the most frequently mishandled. Yachts, marinas, and boat manufacturers each carry exposures that fall outside standard homeowners and commercial policies, and agents who do not understand those differences create real risk for their clients and themselves.

This two-day CMIP seminar covers the full recreational marine landscape, from personal yacht coverage to marina operators liability to boat builder and manufacturer risks.

What You Will Learn

This seminar covers the coverages, exclusions, and placement considerations that define recreational marine accounts:

  • Yacht and pleasure craft insurance: coverage structure, valuation methods, navigational warranties, and common exclusions

  • Marina operators liability: the unique exposures of a business that stores, services, and launches other people's boats

  • Boat builder and manufacturer coverage: liability and property exposures during construction, delivery, and beyond

  • How recreational marine policies differ from homeowners endorsements and where those endorsements fall short

  • Personal watercraft, trailer, and dock coverage considerations

  • How to evaluate and place accounts for sailing clubs, charter operations, and boat dealerships

  • Key markets for recreational marine risks and how to approach submission

Who Should Attend

This seminar is ideal for agents and brokers who write personal lines or small commercial accounts with boat or marina exposure, as well as those looking to grow into the recreational marine market. Prior marine experience is not required.
